Automated bioethanol production plant

Westnol is a modern bioethanol production plant, located in the west of Ukraine (Horodok, Lviv region).

The production capacity is:

  • 280 m3/day of bioethanol
  • 120 tons/day of corn DDGS
  • 700 tons/day of corn processing.

By 2027, the capacity will be increased to 700 m3/day of bioethanol and 300 tons/day of DDGS.

An ambitious biorefinery with a closed-loop, waste-free production cycle that leaves virtually no environmental footprint and is the largest bioethanol production plant in Ukraine.

Our products have high quality standards confirmed by a number of international certificates, such as: The ISCC EU certificate, which shows our contribution to sustainable development, the minimization of greenhouse gas emissions, and the GMP+ certificate, which is a recognized global standard for safety and quality in the production of animal feed. These awards confirm our commitment to the highest standards and guarantee our customers the safety and quality of our products.
Useful for our suppliers

The main source of bioethanol production is corn residues. We buy grain from local farmers who grow it near Westnol. In parallel, we focus on various waste products for the production of modern biofuels, creating plant-based alternatives to petrochemicals.

Raw materials for use:

  • grain (corn)
  • grain waste and spoiled corn (food waste)
  • vegetable and fruit processing waste (food waste)
  • bread and bakery products production waste (food waste)
  • waste from production of flour mills (food waste).

The total need for corn per year for our plant is more than 200,000 tons, the corn is purchased on an ongoing basis:

  • 3rd class corn (dry), with a moisture content of no more than 15%
  • Corn with a moisture content of no more than 30%, including immediately from the field or from storage in sleeves.
